Habits can be both our greatest allies and our toughest adversaries. When we’ve painstakingly built up a routine that serves us well, it can be frustrating when life throws us a curveball, disrupting our hard-earned habits that we mistakenly thought were set in stone. But these disruptions don’t have to be the end of our progress. In fact, they can be an opportunity to reassess, rebuild, and replace habits in a way that are in alignment with our evolving needs. This week, episode 225 of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast is about how to rebuild a lost habit or create a better one!
In this episode of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast, I’m diving deep into the world of rebuilding habits–how to create them, why they sometimes fizzle out and actionable steps to take right now to rebuild habits that serve us in our current season of life.
I cover the following topics:
- A review of how habits work (as explained by authors Charles Duhigg and James Clear).
- Why our habits tend to fizzle out when they are disrupted by life events, stress, or changes in routine.
- 4 tips for rebuilding or recreating habits and examples of how you can apply these steps in your daily routine.
Remember, getting back into the groove of a habit takes time and patience, but the rewards are significant. Be kind to yourself, celebrate every small step, and stick with it. Consistency will help you reach your goals.
