She struggled with dieting. Shouldn't a physician know what to do? was a question that kept her awake at night, until she discovered the true secrets of healthy eating.

I love telling my story because I think it's a story shared by so many women out there and something that we just don't talk enough about. I am a physician but I'm also a woman and I am a woman who has struggled with her weight since my teenage years. It's really funny I look back at my photos of myself as a teenager and I think I look freaking fantastic but at the time I thought I was overweight. So this is really how I have defined myself for the majority of my adulthood: I was this woman living in an overweight body and with that came all of these ideas that I wasn't good enough that I didn't deserve the things that I wanted that I was unlovable that I had no right to be a doctor in a fat body because who's gonna listen to that right? I truly believe these things for a very long time and my life has been really defined by dieting and just moving from one diet to another and one attempt to shrink my body be that ideal thin person that we're told we need to be to be healthy and valuable.
