Yes, for those who are just starting out, it can be the hardware (the racquets, cart, and cones) or the acknowledgement of their past achievements. But for those tennis pros in it for the long game, it's more about the software.
In this episode we talk tennis pro software - what it takes for our resident pro to be good to go:
- Be engaged with students
- To have at least one connection (with a student) moment
- A student who doesn't resist what you're teaching
- To be able to introduce and work with a student on a concept or technique that involves struggle
- To have time to reflect and process on where the student's development is at and what you can bring to them
- To receive an emotional reaction that the student is being emotionally effected - no indifference allowed
