If you are coming up on your Glucose screen test than you are in the right place. The glucose screen test takes place between weeks 24 and 28 of your pregnancy. The glucose test is checking for your risk of gestational diabetes in your pregnancy. It is important to understand that you don’t want to cheat to pass this test. This test exists to help ensure optimal health for you and your baby.
So, in this video we are going to talk about how you can take steps to ensure you are prepared to pass you test in a healthy manner. Passing your glucose test is all about making the right diet/lifestyle decisions leading up to your test.
You need to be making decisions that will lend to balanced blood sugar levels. Your blood sugar levels in pregnancy are important because your baby is being fed from the nutrients in your body. In order to have a healthy baby you do not want to be constantly spiking your blood sugar levels.
In this video we will go through what the screening (Oral Glucose Challenge Test) is, what the screening is not, what is insulin, what is gestational diabetes, and how to pass the screening and be healthy in pregnancy by decreasing intake of simple, refined carbohydrates, eating protein, fat, and whole carbohydrates with each meal, and exercising to manage your blood sugar levels!
I could go on and on about the glucose test in written form, but I think it is more effective to communicate this topic via video… so join me now as we talk all about the glucose screen test!
