"Cancer never met a guy like me."
- Kyle Miron
Have you ever heard these words from a doctor: "You have cancer."?
Hearing these three words may be the scariest thing you may hear regardless if it is you or someone you deeply love who's being given this diagnosis.
At the age of 32, Kyle was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and doctors weren't giving him much hope. Regardless of the prognosis, Kyle was determined to come out victorious in this fight and he did. When hearing his diagnosis, Kyle said to the doctors: "Cancer never met a guy like me." which gives you a good understanding of his attitude he applied to reclaim his health and come out victorious.
In this episode, Kyle and I talk about the philosophy of being like water that probably saved Kyle’s life, Zen-Buddhism, and the influence of Japanese culture on his personal growth. The silver-lining of Kyle’s story and his victory over cancer is in the importance of mastering your mind, your thoughts, and your emotions, choosing your future instead of waiting around to see what happens.
Kyle is a professional photographer, film-maker, documentarian, and author of the book Brain Status Unremarkable through which he shares his story of beating cancer and empowering others to do the same for them.
Tune in and share this with someone who needs to hear it. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
