“God’s Sovereign Plan”
Today’s reading from Luke 1:26-29 invites us into Mary’s extraordinary encounter with the angel Gabriel. Chosen by God to bear the Messiah, Mary receives the message with a mix of awe and hesitation. This moment, perfectly orchestrated from the beginning of time, reveals the incredible sovereignty of God.
The Advent story reminds us that God’s timing, wisdom, and actions are perfect. He holds all things in His hands, carefully and lovingly carrying out His plan for humanity. Mary’s experience encourages us to trust in God’s sovereignty, even when His plans are beyond our understanding.
As you reflect on this pivotal moment in the Advent story, consider where you see God’s sovereign hand at work in your life. Join us in worshiping His perfect plan and giving thanks for His unwavering love and provision through Jesus Christ.
What is Advent? It is the season of remembering and rejoicing. We remember Christ’s first coming as a baby born in Bethlehem and joyfully anticipate his second coming, when he will return to renew and redeem every part of the fallen creation. The Advent season is a time to reflect upon God's promises and anticipate their fulfillment.
