Dear Listener, In this episode, I’m joined by the incredible Amanda White for a conversation about her new book, Not Drinking Tonight: A Guide to Creating A Sober Life You Love. Amanda is a licensed therapist, Swiftie, and creator of the popular Instagram account, @therapyforwoemen. She is the founder and director of the group therapy practice, Therapy for Women Center, based in Philadelphia, where she serves clients across the country. People are drawn to Amanda's unique + accessible approach to healing and mental health, and her expertise has been featured in notable publications such as Forbes, Washington Post, Shape, Women's Health Magazine, and more. During our conversation, we discuss how our relationships with alcohol can play a role in our relationships with food. We explore the topic of addiction and ask the question, “can we really compare substance abuse to feeling out of control around food?” Amanda also offers tips for determining if sobriety (or exploring a sober curious lifestyle) is right for you, as well as how to set boundaries with those in your life who might not understand the desire to distance yourself from alcohol. If you’d like to learn more about Amanda and her work, you can find her on IG @therapyforwomen or @therapyforwomencenter. You can also visit her website, www.amandawhite.com. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to tap those five stars if you enjoy today’s episode!
