Episode #21 of "The Process" podcast features Adrian Walker.
Adrian is the founder and CEO of boataffair.com.
The typical label for Adrian would be venture capitalist and entrepreneur, but after getting to know him better, I would say that at his heart he’s a creator.

On today’s episode I have with me Rocco Cozza. Rocco is a business lawyer who has owned and invested in more than a dozen different businesses. He’s one of those genuine, lifelong entrepreneur’s who was born with business-building in his blood. He’s also an author (Despite the fact that he never used to think of himself as being creative), mentor, course creator, podcaster, coach, and a genuinely kind and generous man. In our conversation, you’ll learn: How Rocco uses proven systems and blind faith to reach his goals. Why being a newly graduated lawyer doesn’t automatically make you a real estate expert (Much to young Rocco’s chagrin). Why Rocco wishes he would have invested in coaches and courses decades ago. And much more. Without any further ado, here's my conversation with Rocco Cozza.…

On today’s show my guest is author, speaker, performer, photographer, blogger … CREATOR C.C. Chapman. C.C. came on my radar through my assistant, Peter. Peter somehow happened to come across a YouTube video of C.C. speaking at a conference and told me, “I really think you ought to watch this guy’s video, Brad.” So I did. I was sitting at Starbucks watching C.C.’s keynote with my headphones on and had to fight down the urge to stand up and yell, “YES!!!”. It’s pretty safe to say that the things C.C. creates and talks about resonate with me on a pretty deep level … which is why I was so pumped when he accepted my invitation to come on the podcast and speak with me. In our conversation, you’ll learn: - Why acting hope even when you’re not feeling it is a pretty big deal. - Why “Just Do It” is a pretty incredible motto for life. - How to find and connect with your tribe. - Why you should take the leap and create that thing in your brain even if a million other people have already made something similar. - And much more. So without any further ado, it is with my profound honor to bring to you my conversation with C.C. Chapman.…

On today’s show I have with me author, Ted Talk’er, and psychotherapist William Pullen. William employs a unique style of therapy that he calls “running therapy”, where his sessions are conducted outdoors in the sunlight and his patients are given the opportunity to move around and get the blood flowing instead of laying or sitting on a couch for an hour. William and I dive deeply into his practice, as well the events that drew him to therapy and wanting to make an impact on people’s lives in the first place. In my conversation with William, you’ll learn: How to actionably incorporate empathy running in your own life. Just how terrifying it feels to KNOW you’re giving a Ted talk. Why moving forward and making decisions is way more valuable than trying to predict the future. And much more! So without any further ado, here’s my conversation with William Pullen.…

On today’s show I have with me Marshawn Evans Daniels. She’s a former Miss America finalist, a Georgetown graduated attorney, high-powered entrepreneur, TV commentator, and was also contestant on “The Apprentice”. Marshawn is the author of the book, “Believe Bigger: Discover the Path to Your Life Purpose”. Simply speaking, she does a lot of amazing, amazing, things. One of the themes that she writes about in her book and we discuss in this show is disruption. If you REALLY want your life to change, what you’re asking for is disruption … and disruption is very often not a pretty or a comfortable thing. It tears down your current vision of your future and replaces it with something you cannot even imagine. For Marshawn, the unasked for disruption that blew her own internal story to smithereens came in the form of discovering her fiance had been unfaithful to her 6 days before her wedding and directly AFTER she had dismantled a multi-million dollar talent management company she had built from the ground up. That disruption put Marshawn on the path of inspiring and empowering millions of people and finding THE person she was destined to spend the rest of her life with. We cover all of this plus: - How-to effectively hire and collaborate with members of your team. - How-to maximize your strengths instead of constantly covering up your weaknesses. - The power of daily journaling (And how to ensure you get maximum bang for your buck in your daily practice) And much more. So without any further ado, here’s my conversation with Marshawn Evans Daniels. Today’s guest on "The Process" is the author of the book “How to End the Stories that Screw Up Your Life”, Ernest Svendsen. In our brains we tell many, often contradictory, stories about who it is that we are. Many of these stories cause us anxiety, anger, frustration, jealousy, and a host of other negative feelings. But what if they’re not really true? And what if there were an actionable system that allowed us to turn those stories into dust so that we could dramatically reduce our own internal suffering? Good news, there is! It’s called “The Work of Byron Katie”, it’s freely available on the world wide web at http://thework.com/en/do-work and it’s at the core of Ernest’s book. In our conversation, you'll learn: - The only capital T truth that Ernest has found in the world --> Why vulnerability is often the strongest position we can take --> The process and benefits of regular self-inquiry --> And much more. Before I “without any further ado”, I just want to take a moment to mention how special this interview was to me. In our interview Ernest told me he regularly finds himself feeling love for the strangers he meets in his day-to-day life at coffee shops, restaurants, etc. And I can say that, without a doubt, despite the fact Ernest and I were were thousands of miles away from one another and communicating through a computer screen and microphone, I could tangibly feel Ernest’s immense love. Which to me was powerful and memorable, and it’s my sincerest hope that you feel it to. Because a little more love makes the world a much better place. He’s the founder of GetWarriorTough.com and the author of “Ground Zero Leadership: CEO of You” and “The Seven Secrets of Resilience for Parents: Navigating the Stress of Parenthood”. Andrew is pretty much the prototypical guest for “The Process”, as there is a tangible reason behind every single action he takes in his life whether it’s coaching his clients, writing his next book, or raising his kids. He just doesn’t have a lot of wasted motions. To listen to my conversation with Andrew Wittman, click that download or stream button right now. In this conversation you’ll learn: How to ask yourself (and others) the right questions that give you deep understanding in your pursuits -> The correlation between safety and security and our personal freedom -> A dive into bitcoin, ethereum, and the blockchain -> Where our biggest growth as humans comes from -> and much more. Oliver is an entrepreneur, intrapreneur (Which if you’re like me and had no idea what that was, it’s a fancy word for running a startup within a massive corporation), the Chief Marketing Officer of blockchain powered educational startup Odem.io, and the founder of SwissLEAP whose vision is to inspire Lasting Enterprise Action Practices in organizations to create shared-value with passion and purpose. Oliver’s with us on the show today because of a referral from previous guest, Adrian Walker. Adrian loved being on “The Process” so much that when our conversation was over he told me he had the PERFECT guy for this show and he wasn’t wrong. Oliver’s a natural empath who has from a very early age always had a burning curiosity about the “why” behind the often wacky and zany actions of human beings. It is the drive to understand those “why’s” about others and himself that leads him through his life’s journey. I jump us around a little throughout this episode but hang in there … there is a TON of amazing value in this conversation. Also, when I sent this off for production my producer informed me that it sounded like I was trying to eat my microphone in this episode, so please excuse my volume … I blame it on the intermittent fasting. Episode #24 of "The Process" podcast features Donnie Boivin. Donnie is the creator and host of the top 50 business podcast, “Success Champions”. Earlier this year Donnie was at a crossroads in his life. He was getting those uneasy feelings in the pit of his stomach regarding his career that so many of us can identify with. At a business convention and on the verge of buying out another business that would have locked him in place for the foreseeable future, Donnie capitulated and decided that he just couldn’t go through with the deal. In our conversation, you'll learn: - How to sharpen and improve your storytelling abilities. - How photography greatly influences Jeff’s storytelling in a purely audio format. - The overwhelming power of belief and how it shapes the world around us. Episode #23 of "The Process" podcast features Jeff Emtman, creator of the "Here Be Monsters" podcast Before we get started I just want to say that this is one of my favorite episode ever. Jeff is the creator of the critically acclaimed “Here Be Monsters” podcast which is an immersive storytelling experience that dives deeply into our fear, beliefs, and the human experience. One of the many (many) ways I have great respect (And much jealousy) for Jeff is his ability to create a three dimensional atmosphere within an audio format that world-class. In this conversation with Dave Hollis, you'll learn: - Dave’s career path through Disney and transition to The Hollis Company. - How his experience dealing with the foster care system has given him and Rachel a lifelong pursuit. - How the Hollis’ stay amazing parents despite chasing legendarily massive goals - And much, much more! Episode #22 of "The Process" podcast features Dave Hollis. Earlier this year Dave, despite the advice of his mentors (Which is kind of a theme for Dave’s career), quit his job as the head of worldwide distribution at Disney (Which you may or may not have heard of) in order to become the CEO of The Hollis Company, formerly Chic Media. The Hollis Company is the enterprise that Dave’s wife, Rachel, has painstakingly nurtured and grown for the last decade. Now I know you might be imagining a balance scale in your mind’s eye right now thinking, “Disney … Hollis Co … DISNEY … Hollis Co.” BUT in case you aren’t familiar with Rachel’s work … let’s dive in a little: Her book “Girl Wash Your Face” has sold over one million copies and she’s the host of not one but TWO of the top podcasts in the world … The Rise podcast and The Rise Together podcast (With Dave as the co-host). Her audience is in the millions and millions, she’s a house of fire with audacious goals like being the female Tony Robbins and filling the shoes of Oprah that you can’t help but believe WILL come to fruition. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why Dave has so much love and passion for helping to grow The Hollis Company. And as he very firmly believes (and we discuss in-depth in our conversation), as human beings we can only experience growth in areas of life where we are less certain. So to anybody listening out there who’s on solid ground and considering wading into choppy waters fraught with risk, I can promise you one thing: Whatever your experience, you will grow from it and come out of the other side an improved version of yourself. Episode #19 of "The Process" is with author V.E. Schwab. Victoria or V.E. Schwab is an international best-selling creator of engrossing worlds. What struck me first in my conversation with Victoria is that she has an enormous heart. The day her and I had this conversation I was less than 24 hours removed from a personal tragedy. I was emotionally fried while running on no sleep, and I had a very real fear that my brain was going to quit on me in this talk that I had been looking forward to for months. I took some time pre-interview to explain and apologize for what was going on, and she reacted with pure kindness, understanding and empathy. So, in addition to the fact that her books are incredible and more than worthy of your time and attention … the reason I’ll personally be a lifelong “Schwablin” and ambassador for her creations is because she’s an amazing human being with a kind and generous heart. Today’s guest on “The Process” is Rich Sheridan. In the late 90’s Rich was a high powered executive at a software company making lots of money. The only problem, despite his outward successes, is that he was absolutely miserable with a capital M. After the company he was working for was sold during the internet bubble, Rich and a couple of partners set out on a quest to create the software business they had always dreamed of working at. That company they created was Menlo Innovations, known worldwide today for their innovative culture that is build around one simple mission … creating more joy in the workplace.. In our conversation you’re going to learn Rich’s exact systems and processes he and his team use to shape Menlo into the amazing company it is today. Before I continue on, I’d like to add a disclaimer to this episode, especially if you have young children around who can hear me speaking at this very moment: The following episode contains mature content. Listener discretion is advised. Today my guest is psychotherapist and author of “Unbroken: One Woman’s Journey to Rebuild a Life Shattered by Violence. A True Story of Survival and Hope”, Madeleine Black. At the age of 13 her innocence was shattered and her entire life experience was forever altered on one night where she was gang-raped by two American teenagers. I would like us to take a moment to visual our lives as 13 year olds. What was your middle school life experience like? What did you worry about? What were your chief concerns in life? Because of my good luck for lack of a better word, my memories are still of a naive and innocent boy that really knew very little about violence and evil in the world at large. I can’t even begin to fathom the amount of emotional strength that Madeleine possesses. In our conversation, we discuss: - Her decades long road to recovery - What we can do as parents and members of society to first help reduce and then eradicate sexual abuse … and this is of the utmost importance because recovery as a victim of sexual assault is an extremely long and difficult road that no one should have to walk. Anyone who’s watched helplessly while a human being they dearly love attempts to overcome the physical and psychological effects of sexual abuse can tell you there are no simple magic-bullet solutions. When it comes to the first steps that can be taken in the battle for eradication meditate on this quote by Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The reality of the current world we live in was created because good people saw evil, sat around, and did nothing. Let’s change that by taking action whenever evil enters our sphere of influence. Madeleine and I also discuss forgiveness and her quest to help as many human beings affected by sexual assault as possible find their voice. On today’s show we have Matt Javit. A few years back Matt and his wife Nicki got the travel bug, and they didn’t get this bug in form of tenuous thought or notion that, “Yeah …. One day, once we have enough money and freedom we’ll travel the world.” They got in an, “Okay. What actionable steps do we need to take to make this dream happen kind of way” Those actionable steps included budgeting, making sure they came back home to careers (Money matters mmkay), selling all of their stuff, and then telling all of their loved ones their plans. So if you’ve ever wanted to know: - Just how much money it costs to travel around the world for a year - How to enjoy yourself despite being in a different culture than you’re used to - How to react when faced with a source of constant negativity - How incredibly thoughtful and different the Japanese culture really is ... On today’s show I have with me Bruno Guevremont. Bruno spent 15 years with the Royal Canadian Navy. Bruno is an entrepreneur, north pole explorer, Invictus Games 2016 Team Canada Captain, and speaker. He’s the only member of the Canadian Forces to dismantle an explosive vest off of a live suicide bomber. “What’s normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.” – Charles Addams Speaking with Bruno is easy. He’s quick to laugh, good-natured, and humble. I don’t think there’s anyone on the planet who could talk to this modern day warrior and sense anything resembling weakness. But when Bruno got sick and left the Royal Navy, he underwent immense, immense suffering. So much so that he gave his therapist one last shot to help him and, if nothing changed, he had his suicide planned out. Luckily for myself and everyone this awesome and inspiring man has touched in the years since, that last therapy session proved fruitful and put him on the path towards healing. It’s directly because of this life experience that Bruno dedicates all of his time and energy towards helping his fellow man overcome their mental health challenges. In our conversation we cover paying attention to the stories we’re telling ourselves, the benefits of living in a remote village walled off from the rest of the world, seeing the humanity in people we perceive to be our enemies, and much, much more. On today’s show I have with me Scott Myers. Scott has been a screenwriter for the past 31 years and, for the past 10 years, has been blogging on his site, gointothestory.com where he has created a more than unfathomable 24,000 blog posts (he also receives more than 1.5 million visitors each year)! In the 80’s, Scott created and sold a spec script to Universal Pictures for more than a couple dollars which was then turned into the feature film K9. As a young man, Scott graduated from Yale university with a theology degree but decided to put that to the side to follow his bliss which, at that time, was creating music … which is a common thread throughout our conversation … living a life that’s true to yourself. In our interview, we go through Scott’s personal hero journey from military brat who loved the movies, to a musician, to a stand-up comic, to a screenplay writer, to a blogger, to professor. I feel very grateful and blessed to have had this opportunity to speak with this amazing man and it is my great pleasure to bring to you my conversation with Scott Myers. Ever since he was a kid, Ruben had aspirations of competing in the Olympics … the only problem is he wasn’t very athletic or, in his words, he was “just good enough to warm the bench playing college soccer. As a matter of fact, my coach wouldn’t even let me play until we were up by 2 goals.” But one night while watching TV in Houston, Texas changed everything for him … he watched Scott Hamilton win gold in Sarajevo. After seeing what Scott had overcome to be an Olympic champion, Ruben knew he had it in himself as well. So at 21 years old … 11 years later than people normally start Ruben, an Argentinian living in Houston, Texas, begin his career competing in the luge. To date, Ruben is the only winter Olympian to compete in 4 different games in 4 different decades. Despite being a self-described “C” student’, he’s also the best-selling author of “the courage to succeed”, the inner game of success, and “fight for your dream”. He’s also a documentary film director and field producer. Basically imagine you’re a high level athlete who wants to transition to life behind the camera … Bob would be your Jedi master. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to connect with Bob. He was extremely generous with his time and energy and very thoughtful with his words. Frankly, this is a conversation that I keep coming back to in my mind. The more I peel back the layers of Bob’s words, the more depth and wisdom I discover. It’s really an incredible thing. In our conversation we discuss: - How feedback is useful only when you interpret in a clinical way. - The burden misplaced words can cause on the people we love. - How to remove self limiting expectations put on you by others. - How to take a leap of faith. - Happy Failures. - Opting to levers of control. - And much, much more. How do you get to sit down at the table with massive companies and land a major contract? What about getting a contract and setting up a partnership that will be massively beneficial to you? He’s also the former CEO of Unitek and, more recently, is an author, keynote speaker, and founder of 3Sixty Management services. Quite simply, he’s a highly successful, battle-tested leader who believes in the respectful and thoughtful treatment of everyone he works with. In our interview, I ask Rocky: – What are the actionable steps a tiny company can take in order to collaborate or land a contract with a massive company like UPS? – How do you acquire and use mentor’s in an effective way. – What would Rocky think about and spend his time and energy on if he were just a young buck today starting out but still had his leadership and business knowledge? – What books does he find himself re-reading on leadership? – And much, much more! Today’s guest on the show is Adam Kreek. The guy is a freaking stud who I believe is capable of anything he puts his mind to. What really stood out to me about Adam is that he has an energy and excitement about him that’s tangible. It’s pretty much impossible to hear him talk, listen to his stories, hear his wisdom and hard-earned life lessons and not want to set big goals for yourself and climb the closest and tallest mountain you can find. I find that when you have the rare opportunity to hear someone whose words can strike you like a lightning bolt and give you a new perspective on the short time we have on this planet … you simply can’t pass them up … they don’t happen often enough. To say I’m excited to share this conversation with you is a massive understatement … Adam and I discuss: - The importance of coaches in our lives - How to create systems that hold us accountable even if we’re big and lazy (Adam’s words about himself) -Why you probably shouldn’t drink absinthe in the Swiss Alps after a world-class rowing competition - And so much more. Reza Rezz is a serial entrepreneur and founder of Mindset Performance Training: a company that helps high-achieving working professionals and entrepreneurs harness the power of their mindset to achieve their personal, professional and relationship goals without regressing back. Reza created Mindset Performance Training out of necessity. In 2015, while working as a business consultant, he noticed 2 groups of clients he worked with: 1) Those who would execute using his feedback. 2) Those who would point at the ‘reasons’ they couldn’t get it done. After repeated tries, he noticed that the tips, tricks tactics just weren’t working. … there was something fundamentally missing. When he employed the help of his partner, licensed psychotherapist Victoria Larson, he started to more fully see the big picture. To progress, his clients needed to identify and unlock the things that were holding them back psychologically. Today, Reza and Victoria empower leaders to take charge of their internal and external world, without the guesswork of traditional self-improvement tactics that don’t get to the root problem. So if you’re having trouble taking action on the things you know you SHOULD be taking action on you absolutely do not want to miss my conversation with Reza Rezz. Neta Talmor is the creator of “NoHassleWebsite.com” and as passionate an entrepreneur as you’ll find. Even though Neta classifies herself as lifetime entrepreneur, she’s indisputably an extraordinary teacher who personally provides massive value to anyone who’s fortunate enough cross her path. To understand just how much her audience raves about her, I went straight to the source and came away with the following testimonials: "I love Neta. There. Nuff said!" "Neta has not only spoiled me forever by providing the best customer service I’ve ever received, she’s also taught me by her actions how I want to run my business." "Neta is truly inspiring. Not only has she created what I believe to be the best product for entrepreneurs in the website space but she’s extremely hard working, her customer service is personal and attentive and she seems to literally be able to master anything in the online world with ease." "She has such a big heart and shares her knowledge either for free or very little cost and not because she doesn’t value herself but rather she doesn’t believe in the common myth of over-inflated coaching as a signature for self-worth. And she remembers bootstrapping her start up like so many of us! I think she has great things ahead of her and feel proud to know her." "Seriously where else do you pay $100 and one YEAR later have an instant response to your panicking because you have updated your plugins and your whole site is offline?! She responds like she’s your big sister, every time." Neta has such drive and passion for us to succeed in business. She has been the founation of mine, increasing my confidence and actually having me believe I can do this online thing! Neta should be mandatory for new start up-she is truly amazing. If that doesn’t get you excited about this interview, I don’t know what will. In the following interview you’re going to learn how to make your business venture sustainable, the wasteful things online entrepreneurs sink tons of time and resources into that gives almost no results, Neta’s daily process, her method of choosing products to create that people fall head over heels in love with, and much more.
