Manage episode 360222504 series 2701386
Our podcast guest, Editor/Author of Concierge Medicine Today
According to a February 27, 2023 article in TIME written by Jamie Ducharme just last year in a story titled Long Waits, Short Appointments, Huge Bills: U.S. Health Care Is Causing Patient Burnout she noted ... U.S. medical schools do an excellent job of teaching students how to practice medicine. But, she argues, they aren’t always as good at preparing students to be doctors, with all the interpersonal complexity that entails. “Patients won’t necessarily want to go back to doctors they don’t like,” she says. Even small gestures, like making eye contact with or leaning toward a patient as they speak, can help build a strong rapport, Taber says.[1]
