In a crazy topsy turvy world we're all looking for comfort, balance, and validation. To find answers to our mortal questions, and to try to understand who and what we are, and what this world is to achieve greater clarity and purpose in life. Sometimes it gets hard to maintain our mental health, and sometimes it gets hard to see and understand other's attitudes and points of views. So, on this episode, I began to think about the yin and yang of life, and how we might be able to assess ourselves and this word to achieve greater understanding; and through that, greater comfort and happiness. This world has become divided so much, by the haves vs. the have nots, through racial and gender differences, through sociopolitical and socioeconomic differences, so that by the end of the day we tend to believe that diversity and differences are a good thing. So why is it then that we only seem to like diversity and differences when it's with people we agree with? At the root of our culture, politics, and economics, what is it that seems to be chipping people away from their kindness and understanding, and creating more division, hate, chaos, and more problems than we solve? At the end of the day, we all want to live in a better world, to be happier and more at peace with ourselves and with others, with a greater sense of purpose and clarity. So, at the end of the day, we have more balance in our lives. While hardly perfect, I think I came to realize what exactly is at the root of most cultural divisiveness, and at the heart of why people can't seem to ever find lasting comfort and happiness in their lives. This episode explores all the various things that contribute to our problems, and then we begin to address how we might change our lives and thinking to achieve more lasting mental health, happiness, clarity, comfort, and joy that can endure over time and hardships.
