Red Flags. Sometimes we don't see them, but I am here to remind you of how important it is to look out for them and to protect yourself, especially as an entertainer.
There are bad people out there. I hate to say it, but I watch too much crime shows to understand that this is FACT! I also know that you dream of being a thriving artist so badly, that you can get caught up in the stars and won't see the Red Flags that are waving in front of you when you get an email that says "Booked "it", or someone promises you fame and fortune.
I get it and trust me when I say that I know how you feel. But as I get older and wiser, I can say with certainty that this world is scary and you need to take precautions, do your research and protect yourself in every way possible!
If you don't know, I was hit on by my Doctor in the beginning of the year (and that was a professional setting). Although this has nothing to do with the entertainment industry, it made me think back on my past and how I could have been in situations where I might have been hurt if I didn't bring a friend with me to every project I was a part of.
Which is why I feel like it is so important to talk about taking precautions and protecting yourself as an entertainer. Tune into this episode as we take a journey that will hopefully help you start to think about why you should take every precaution to ensure your safety at all times.
Because you ARE IMPORTANT and you have a destiny to fulfil! There will be other projects out there and you can say no. Look for the red flags, trust your gut and know that you are way more important than any project out there.
