About the episodeOn today’s episode, Eve makes Rose go completely plant based for two weeks. Increasingly, the decision to have a totally plant based diet is no longer being made simply on ethical grounds, but also for health reasons. There’s been a growing focus on the link between a plant based diet and reduced risk to common health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. But is this really the case, and could going plant based actually have a negative effect on your health? Skeptics of the plant based diet claim the reduced protein can leave you feeling hungry - increasing your tendency to snack. And that it can promote deficiencies, like anaemia. So, is a plant based diet not only the morally conscious choice, but also the health conscious choice as well? Or will the veggies have to eat their words? The Challenge: For two weeks Rose can only consume a completely plant based diet. Paying special attention to the impact of the diet on her energy, mood, and gut health. About the hostsEve Kalinik is a nutritional therapist and author.
