Secular AA's Podcast

For atheists, freethinkers, humanists etc., who are looking for relatable written versions of recovery a la Alcoholics Anonymous, reviews have varied widely through AA history. Seven million copies of Living Sober are in circulation, AA's 1975 offering of the practical experiences of hundreds of thousands of accounts and AA anecdotes from AA's first forty years is appreciated by many. AA Grapevine has printed the experiences of unabashed atheists since the 1960s.
It wasn't until decade two of the 21st century did AA's publications devote ink to the agnostic/atheist recovery stories in earnest. This recording offers an hour in AA History with Dianne P of Toronto chairing and featuring:

1. John L from Boston, sharing about Living Sober coming off the press when he was a New York City AA members and the usefulness of this down to earth AA offering for secular AA meetings through the years,
2. Susan of Bristol UK, talking about secular AA in England and how the Great Britain 2014 The "God" Word: Agnostics and Atheists in AA came to be,
3. AA Grapevine publisher, Amy B of New York City talks about the hot-off-the-press October 2016 Grapevine special issue on secular AA storytelling.

The setting is the We Agnostics, Atheists and Freethinkers International AA Conference, November 2016 in Austin Texas - the second biennial International gathering for secular AA members. Since this recording, One Big Tent: atheist and agnostic AA members share their experience, strength and hope did get published just in time for the 2018 Toronto International Conference of Secular AA and holds the title of the AA Grapevine book with the most pre-publication order of any published offering.
