SOCIAL DISTANCING | COVID-19 in Rohingya Language
Manage episode 288617725 series 2902249
Rohingya Medics recommend Social Distancing as COVID-19 Preventive Measure.
The COVID-19 Coronavirus is very contagious with high mortality than flu and the common cold.
It spreads through droplets from an infected person through cough and sneeze, and many can carry it without showing the symptoms up to weeks.
It doesn’t discriminate ages or genders. Evidence indicates its mortality higher among elderly, immunocompromised, patients with chronic diseases like Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hepatitis, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and undernourished people.
Poor sanitation facilities, lack of clean and adequate water, lack of proper health facilities and overcrowded places are the suitable factors of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
The break in the transmission of the disease is important, thus, Rohingya Medics Organisation recommends Social Distancing like the WHO recommendation.
Social Distancing is a practice where people prevent spreading of the disease by avoid gathering in crowded places, schools, religious buildings, events and functions. Now even Makkah and Medina, people are being encouraged to pray at home.
Maintaining at least 2 metres or 6 feet between two individuals is effective in the prevention of COVID-19 transmission. Governments and international health organisations across the world are taking the measure in preparation to contain the COVID-19 virus transmission.
For the Rohingya community, we recommend social distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene whenever possible.
Together we can beat the COVID-19.
Be prepared!
