Once upon a time, most births took place within the home. A place where families could embrace the arrival of new life with love and care, in a safe, familiar setting. But today, the vast majority of births occur in the sterile, medicalized environment of a hospital, a place more often associated with illness, disease, and death.

For many, this is the last place they want to experience the miracle of birth. Especially now the once trusted establishments of hospitals have being exposed as beholden to powerful money interests that put profit of well being. It’s no wonder, then, that a renaissance is taking place. One in which increasing numbers of men and women are deciding to return to nature’s way, by opting for a home birth with as minimal medical intervention’s as possible.

To understand why this is the case, as well as the many benefits of home birthing in episode 90, we are joined by Emily Thomas. Emily is a mother of two healthy children born at home, who is here to share her personal experiences of multiple natural home births. As well as her extensive research into both home and unassisted birthing.
