In other words, mastering kanji completely is impossible even for Japanese people. It’s understandable why Japanese is said to be the most difficult language in the world. In this episode, we discussed why there are three types of characters in Japanese. How did kanji come to Japan? And why were hiragana and katakana created?

Feeling doubtful about raising children in a big city like Osaka, my friend moved to the nature-rich Shikoku. However, it seems that they had trouble fitting into the social dynamics in their new environment. Rather than just interpersonal relationships, they said they struggled to adapt to the mindset and behaviors of the people there, which were influenced by the unique characteristics of Shikoku as an island. This is not something limited to Shikoku—it can also be said about Okinawa and even Japan as a whole. We talked about the cultural traits shaped by the closed worlds of islands and rural areas. In the first week, we were so focused on getting used to life here that we couldn’t really enjoy Kuala Lumpur, and we weren’t able to share many positive updates in the podcast. However, unlike the first week, by the second week, we’ve gotten a bit more accustomed to life here, and both of us can now speak more positively. Tora has made friends at school through badminton, and it seems like he’s started to enjoy school. I’ve also become friends with the gym staff, which made me realize how important it is to have hobbies when living abroad. Kitakyushu City is in Fukuoka Prefecture, but it’s right next to Yamaguchi Prefecture, so we also explored the charm of Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi has been featured in The New York Times , but we have never been there. We looked into what makes it so appealing. Two years ago, there was still some impact from COVID-19, and there weren’t many tourists. This time, however, the central area of Osaka, around Shinsaibashi, was overflowing with tourists. It was packed with visitors from all over the world, and I was surprised to hardly hear any Japanese, let alone the Osaka dialect. As usual, I enjoyed some kushikatsu and indulged in Osaka’s famous gourmet foods. But this time, I also discovered a new side of Osaka by finding lots of cool vintage clothes in Ame-Mura (America Village). Additionally, I heard an opinion that, despite consistently ranking at the top in popularity rankings, Japanese airlines are not actually that likable, and I was surprised because I completely agree. Daha Sonra Çal Daha Sonra Çal Listeler Beğen Beğenildi５週間（ごしゅうかん）のマレーシア滞在（たいざい）報告（ほうこく）の最後（さいご）の話（はなし）になります。５週目（ごしゅうめ）はティオマン島（とう）という小（ちい）さな島（しま）に渡（わた）り、ダイビングをしてきました。クアラルンプールの都会（とかい）に比（くら）べ、島（しま）の村（むら）の生活（せいかつ）はシンプルで人々（ひとびと）もフレンドリーで温（あたた）かく、とても静（しず）かで心地（ここち）よい場所（ばしょ）でした。素敵（すてき）な出会（であ）いもたくさんあり、5週間（ごしゅうかん）の中（なか）で最（もっと）も人（ひと）と触（ふ）れ合（あ）い、価値（かち）のあるいい経験（けいけん）をした1週間（いっしゅうかん）でした。また来年（らいねん）も絶対（ぜったい）に戻（もど）りたいと思（おも）える素敵（すてき）な島（しま）の話（はなし）です。 This is the final story of my five-week stay in Malaysia. In the fifth week, I went to a small island called Tioman Island and went diving. Compared to the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, life in the village on the island was simple, and the people were friendly and warm. It was a very quiet and comfortable place. I also had many wonderful encounters, and it was the week where I interacted with the most people and had the most valuable experiences during my five weeks.
