In February, the Future of Festivals, in collaboration with the European festival association YOUROPE, convened a panel at the FestForums conference in Santa Barbara, USA. This panel facilitated a comprehensive international exchange between European and American festival organizers. Additionally, as part of the Future of Festivals and YOUROPE initiative, there will be an exchange at the Future of Festivals event in Berlin in November. The latest podcast episode delves into the topic: "What European & US Music Festivals can learn from each other?"
Signe Lopdrup, CEO of Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and Marta Pallarès Olivares, Press Director of Primavera Sound in Spain and YOUROPE board member, represented the European festivals, offering unique insights into various topics such as values, talent acquisition, sustainability, fan loyalty, security, ticketing, and sponsorship. They were joined by esteemed representatives from two renowned US festivals: Jenn Yacoubian, EVP at Goldenvoice and core member of the booking team at the world-famous Coachella Festival, and EJ Encalarde, President & COO of Festival Productions Inc. from New Orleans, responsible for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, among others.
