?Richard welcomes a U.S. Attorney to discuss the Watergate scandal which began early in the morning of June 17, 1972, when several burglars were arrested in the office of the Democratic National Committee, located in the Watergate complex of buildings in Washington, D.C. This was no ordinary robbery: The prowlers were connected to President Richard Nixons reelection campaign, and they had been caught wiretapping phones and stealing documents. The ensuing attempted cover-up of the break-in led to President Nixon's eventual resignation in August 1974. http://www.postgatebook.com/ ?Guest: John O'Connor is an experienced trial lawyer, practicing law in San Francisco since 1972. He has tried cases in state and federal court throughout the country. He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Northern California, representing the United States in both criminal and civil cases. Among his interesting assignments have been representation writing Fifth Amendment and "state of mind" briefs for the prosecution in United States v. Patricia Hearst; representing Coach Don Nelson in litigation with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban; and representing W. Mark Felt regarding the revelation of his identity as Deep Throat. BOOKS: Postgate: How the Washington Post Betrayed Deep Throat, Covered-Up Watergate, and Began Today's Partisan Advocacy Journalism. Listen live every Sunday at 11pm on Zoomer Radio
