Session 35 The Ascetic Supplications The right measure of supplication compared to one's pious deeds should be just like the right quantity of salt that is added to food (Ibn Abi Shaibah). Good deeds should be performed before making a supplication, Good deeds should be numerous as compared to the supplication, Good deeds become tasteless with supplication, The supplication should be concise. The best form of worship is supplication (Haakim). For whoever the door of supplication is opened, then in reality, ALL the doors of mercy are opened (Tirmidhi). There is nothing more nobler in the Sight of Allah SWT than supplication (Ahmad). The portion of the world that benefits the hereafter is not harmful, yet the portion that only benefits the world is harmful (Kanzal Ummal).
