Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman Hank Johnson are demanding accountability from the Supreme Court.
On the rest of the menu, the $20 billion allocated to Indian Country under the American Rescue Plan will affect 2.6 million people; a rural Arizona county finally certified its midterm election results after a judge ruled Republican supervisors broke the law when they refused; and, immigrant rights groups sued Ron DeSantis and other Florida officials over the constitutionality of their migrant relocation plan.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where the trial of Hong Kong newspaper publisher Jimmy Lai was postponed when the territory’s leader asked China to block him from hiring a British defense lawyer; and, Australian economist Sean Turnell, who spent almost two years imprisoned in Myanmar, received a hero’s welcome at Australia’s Parliament House.
