Dr. Chavonda Jacobs-Young joined the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in 2012 as Associate Administrator and named Administrator in 2014, becoming the first female and person of color to lead the agency. Dr. Jacobs-Young is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Academy of Public Administration and a Presidential Rank Award winner.
