Als het gaat over migratie en culturele diversiteit wordt vaak verwezen naar het boek Ruth. Koert van Bekkum deed onderzoek naar een passage die zowel omstreden als genegeerd is: Genesis 10, een lijst van volken en naties. Omstreden, want deze tekst werd gebruikt om rassenscheiding te legitimeren. Koert laat zien dat deze tekst het tegendeel betoogt.
