EROS Pronounced: AIR-ohs - romantic love - 1 COR 7:5 There isn’t much in the bible about this and what is there is not relevant for this podcast! So let’s move on!

STORGE Pronounced: STOR-jay - familial love - ROMANS 12:10, “Love each other as brothers and sisters.” As family. Parents and their child. Between siblings. Grandparents. Natural affection due to being related. With God as our heavenly Father, people who believe in Jesus are family. Not like family, actual family!

PHILIA Pronounced: FILL-ee-uh - strong friendship/intimate love, personal, dear, care, compassion, affection - JOHN 13:35 “If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.”

AGAPE Pronounced: Uh-GAH-pay - God’s love for humankind. Perfect, unconditional, sacrificial, pure. Selfless. Heroic. It is not about feelings but about actions. JOHN 3:16 “God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.”
