Adam welcomes Mark Fleming Jr, Managing Partner of MEMM Capital for another episode in the How I Built It series. A Columbus resident for most of his life, Mark is an entrepreneur that bootstrapped his company (Signature Closers LLC) to over $65 million in annual revenue and an eventual sale to Fortune 800 company, Stewart Title Company, in Feb '21. He recently founded Arena Technology Solutions with agroup of entrepreneurs that have started, scaled, and exited businessescombined with technology partners to offer solutions to middle marketcompanies and corporate innovation groups at largecompanies. MEMMCapital is his holding company that acquires and invests in established,operating businesses and he isalso a Co-Founder of TalentShare, a companythat connects collegiate athletes with the parents of youth athletes forcoaching and lessons through a marketplace and app. Adam and Mark chat about how Mark became an accidental serial entrepreneur after finding a niche and strong network in being a notary for real estate closings. Mark shares how he built Signature Closers, including the risk to simply salary himself at $40k per year (with a young family at home) in order to continue to grow his business. After partnering with an amazing Chief Technology Officer, Mark and his team built their business to over 62,000 signings per month, but still considered their accountability to their clients as one of their biggest assets, despite the number of deals in their queue. Adam and Mark also talk about transitioning out of the business and knowing when it was time to sell.
