Devin talks about the confining nature of genre labels, and how she works to find balance within her lyric-writing. We discuss why she finds it so important to check your ego as a songwriter and artist, and how she harnessed the power of FOMO and burnout to drive her further lyrically on this album. We hear she struggled with patience early on, how the band adapted to changing timelines and rollout plans for the album, and even how the band approached putting on their promotional hat to create visibility for their album across social media once it was finished.
