On this episode of The Record Process, you’ll hear our interview with lead singer and guitarist Em Foster of the English anarcho-punk band Nervus. On June 24th 2022, the band released their 4th studio album titled The Evil One. Throughout this interview we touch upon the evolution of the bands songwriting process, the pros and cons of coming up with song titles before writing the song, and how losing their grasp on ideas ultimately led to some of the bands most expressive compositions to date. You’ll also hear Em talk about adjusting vocal melodies to fit the right key, how they purposefully distance themselves from songs once they are written, and much more.
