Eww! You smell that? It must be this week’s new episode. Sure, Bailey, Keegan, and Dave (not THAT Dave) may start out thinking that it’s a normal episode with a piece of silly wordplay surrounding an iconic title. But slowly, a creeping odor drifts in from the distance. It’s not pleasant. It’s downright vile. It’s deadly, but it’s anything by silent. Brace yourselves, listeners. Brace yourselves. Also, we guess there’s a lightning round that’s slightly more normal.
NOTES

⚠️ Inline notes below may be truncated due to podcast feed character limits. Full notes are always on the episode page.

🖖 Kirk’s eulogy for Spock ends with "of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human."

🍻 Dr. Lilith Sternin Crane is actually, according to a 1986 episode of Cheers, it’s "Dr. Lilith Sternin, M.D., Ph.D., Ed.D., A.P.A." Though I don’t know who would actually put "A.P.A." in their title.

🧠 "The Logical Song" is the one where the singer asks, “please tell me who I am.”

🍼 The Goo Goo Dolls are still releasing albums, even if it’s basically a one man band at this point.

🤴 Goldfinger won an Oscar not for the Shirley Bassey theme song, but for sound effects.

🌰 The Silky Nutmeg Ganache scorebreak. Munch munch. Crunch crunch. The Lipsync Assassin is here to eat the lunch! [3/10: I have no idea what I just said.]
🎹 The relationship between Mozart and Salieri presented in Amadeus was almost entirely fictional.

🐭 In addition to voicing Yakko Warner on Animaniacs, Rob Paulsen has played various Ninja Turtles, and has more than 500 other voice credits on IMDB, even if they misspelled his name on Stripperella.

🐕 James Gunn is still salty about the watering down of his more adult Scooby Doo scripts (the original cut of the first movie got an R rating from the MPAA).

👑 The Good King Wenceslas Scorebreak. Good King Wenceslas: LOOK OUT! [5/10: My least favorite Christmas carol]
🚪 The Monty Hall Problem is a classic of Bayesian statistical reasoning.

🌝 In the comics, Moon Knight was originally a mercenary hired to hunt Jack Russell, Marvel’s Werewolf by Night. The connection to Egyptian mythology came later, and the dissociative identity disorder even later than that.

🦅 Stakar Ogord, the character played by Sylvester Stallone in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, has basically nothing in common with the cosmic powered Starhawk of the comics.

🗽 Liberty’s Kids was a PBS animated series in which kid reporters cover the events of the Revolutionary War for Ben Franklin’s newspaper. All of the historical figures were played by well known celebrities.

🎮 Dave can be found speedrunning Shadow of the Colossus on Twitch.

🔪 Also on Twitch he's playing social deduction games every Tuesday on Traitor Tuesdays.
