Sadé and Malcolm discuss Chadwick Boseman's inspiring commencement speech to their graduating class at Howard University, his global impact through dignified portrayals of Black people, and what we can learn from his journey about ableism. They also discuss differing perspectives on the nature of death within the African Diaspora, and how mass Black death through negligent pandemic policy, state violence, and health disparities has traumatized Black Americans in 2020. Show Notes: References/further reading regarding the perception of death in a few African cultures: Article~ Dying Peacefully: Considering Good Death and Bad Death in Kwahu-Tafo, Ghana: "Among the Kwahu-Tafo of Ghana, a good death is one in which the dying person has accomplished most of what he or she set out to accomplish and has made peace with others before dying" (Van Der Geest, 2004).
