Host Nanette Wiser chatted with Warehouse Arts District Association executive director Markus Gottschlich about his upcoming concerts and what's happening during the holidays at WADA in downtown St. Pete. https://www.facebook.com/wadastpete
11/22 FREE CONCERT: Markus and his trio will be at a free concert at downtown St. Pete's Imagine Museum 5-8 PM for an unforgettable evening of live jazz. Led by Austrian-American pianist, composer, and Steinway Artist Markus Gottschlich, this trio promises an evening filled with energy, elegance, and musical depth with Michael Washington on drums and Elias Tona on bass.
UPCOMING WADA EVENTS WADA and Star Trolley are now partnering on Second Saturday Artwalk with a free trolley and six stops including Duncan McCllelan and The Deuces.
WADA & EDUCATION Markus talked about how WADA is deeply involved in bringing arts to the community and local schools during the last two years and going forward, looks forward to more partnerships including the upcoming concert with the Mt. Zion Church. Arts in Action is the newest program. They recently debuted a new arts education tool using light painting and AI at their Futurescape Gala.
Arts in Action The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) has organized a Jordan Park Youth Program series with a creative twist! Starting November 12th, our Jordan Park youth began a 4-week ArtsXploration series, hosted by the Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA). This series, “Wearable Art: Design Your Own Fashion,” is led by Karen Gonzalez Artist. In this hands-on class, our young artists are discovering their unique styles while learning techniques to transform everyday clothing into bold fashion statements! Over the next few weeks, they’ll experiment with materials like acrylic fabric paint, bleach, oil pastels, and more to create wearable masterpieces.
To wrap up the series, we’ll host a fashion show to showcase their one-of-a-kind designs.
