As the financial world continues to struggle, Lehman brothers becomes one of the casualties but the history of the firm is worth knowing. From starting out as a cotton trading company to surviving through having its offices located in the World Trade Centre during the September 11th attacks, a tragic story maybe but it could certainly never be called a dull story.

It was a primary dealer in the U.S. Treasury securities market.
