Pastor Sergio wraps up his Upgrade series and tells us about the emotional, physical, mental and relational aspects of how we can overcome an impoverished mindset. The emotional aspect of poverty is being able to choose and control emotional responses to negative situations without engaging in self-destructive behavior. The mental component of poverty is having the mental abilities and acquired skills to deal with daily life. We all have 3 voices within our internal dialogue: childhood, parenthood and adulthood. An adult voice is not an emotional voice and deals with facts. We have to listen to our adult voice and have it influenced by the voice of God. We have to value the relationships and role models God brings to us in our lives and be certain they are appropriate and won't engage in destructive behavior. The 2 ways out of poverty are relationships and education!
