In the Book of the prophet Malachi (1:6 to 2:9) we read where the Lord tells the priests of the temple and the people of Israel in general that their sacrifices were unacceptable and disrespectful. Think what a shock that must have been to them. They thought that what they were doing was acceptable to the Lord. Yet the Lord told them their offerings were inferior and showed a lack of respect for Him.
That brings up an important question for our days. Do we think our offerings (worship) are acceptable to God yet in God's eyes are in fact not acceptable at all? Thank the Lord for His mercy and grace, yet we still need to realize that He and His Word (Bible) is the only standard to judge on this subject. Something to think about.
