The traditional dishes Yemen vs USA
Manage episode 419519088 series 3552616
The Shawarma and Waffles podcast really shows us the difference in cultures between the Yemeni and American worlds, specifically in the foods they eat, traditionally or in family occasions or in their big holidays like Eid and Christmas etc.
Some of the traditional foods are like Mandi or Zurbiyan for the Yemenis and stuffed Turkey or mashed potatoes or a casserole for the Americans , even though their main dishes in their everyday life may differ in the Yemeni side we have chicken, meet, fish, and rice as the main dish regularly while the American side have bread or potatoes and they don’t usually eat fish while that promptly depends on which region you're in , because the United States is huge and we are just talking about a specific group not all .
It really shows us that even though we might be different in many ways that food will always bring us together no matter the occasion.
