My Story: $50M+ in deals still can't erase the sound of metal bullet shells hitting the concrete as I ran home as fast as I could. I had to find a way out... Growing up I moved 18 times trying to avoid all the problems that come with living on the wrong side of the tracks. I was abandoned by my biological at 2 and by my adopted father at 7. I spent most of my youth hiding from this place of fear, shame, confusion, and anger. I was playing defense. I was playing not to lose. My life changed when I discovered sports and my dormant competitive spirit was sparked. I learned that whatever my life was going to be was up to me. I decided to play to win. As my love for sports grew so did my love for sales. They were the same game -- a challenge. I sold candy at school recess. I sold landscaping services. I sold basketball cards. I sold athletic shoes. I sold door-to-door. Sales taught me that I couldn’t control the results, but I could always control my actions. I was playing to win. At my first professional sales job I was breaking company sales records, but I felt empty when I looked at my commission checks. At that moment, I knew I was playing to win, but I was playing the wrong game. I was playing the employee game. I needed to play the entrepreneur game. I needed to own 100% of my time and results. I decided to play offense and created my own equipment finance business which has given me complete financial, time, location & mental freedom.
