What lessons can Manchester United take from Brighton's new star Kauro Mitoma and Arsenal's pursuit of the Seagulls' midfielder Moises Caicedo? That's one discussion of many in the latest Manchester United Weekly Podcast with Harry Robinson and Jack Tait.

The two Reds react to a 3-1 victory over Reading in the FA Cup at Old Trafford which sees Erik Ten Hag's side through to the Fifth Round. Ten Hag is the first United manager in history to win his first six domestic cup matches. They listen to some wonderful Beatles-inspired commentary of Casemiro's lovely second goal and discuss the Brazilian's influence on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Antony's excellent assist and progress. Christian Eriksen left M16 on crutches on Saturday night, so what would his absence mean for the team?

Answering questions from the podcast's Patrons, Harry and Jack determine how much credit is due to United's way for the signings made last summer and whether the Reds should make a move for Brighton's Mitoma, or whether his good form can give the club a different lesson entirely.

The boys play guess the player and provide an extensive youth, loan and United Women round-up with cup progress for Marc Skinner's side, two lovely goals for the U21s and a potential move away for FA Youth Cup-winning striker Charlie McNeill in League Two.

TIMESTAMPS

00:30 Intro

01:15 Analysing Paul Ince’s insight on Erik ten Hag’s success at MUFC

11:40 The Brazilians! And some brilliant commentary on Casemiro’s goal

12:30 Casemiro’s influence on those around him (especially Wan-Bissaka)

25:50 Guess the Player - Clue One

26:50 Patreon question: How much credit does the new behind-the-scenes structure at United deserve for recent transfers? Obviously, Casemiro was sensational on Saturday and Ten Hag can take a lot of credit for the team's good form but overall singings have been pretty good so far this season- I even think Weghorst is a really good short-term solution/ squad player. (From Ted Popham, Patron since *)

32:25 Patreon question: Finally a question about my favourite non-United player to watch at the moment, Mitoma. How good do you think he is/could be? I really love watching him play and would love to see United get him instead of another top 6 club. If United were to get him, would he be a good signing? He could give squad depth plus competition for spaces- the type of signing City make all the time. Or do we already have too many left-wingers, especially with Garnacho needing game time? (From Ted Popham, Patron since August 2020)

46:40 Guess the Player - Clue Two

50:10 U21s and U18s round-up

52:05 Loan round-up (Amad, Hannibal, Charlie Savage and a vegan Duncan Ferguson, Alvaro Fernandez and a new loan for Charlie McNeill)

56:30 United Women round-up

57:25 Guess the Player - Clue Three

57:45 Nottingham Forest (h) - preview
