Rolex, McDonald's, KFC, Apple... massive brands that STILL spend millions of dollars in marketing and advertising. Yet every now and then I'll bump into a small business owner who somehow believes they have a new product or service that doesn't need marketing. They literally believe their product will sell itself. My response to them is always, nothing sells itself. You could be selling R50 notes for R20 and you'd STILL need marketing because people would think the notes are counterfeit.
