The visiting Reds scored seven runs in the top of the tenth inning, breaking open a 3-3 game that should have been over and won by the Marlins much earlier.

With the bases loaded and nobody out in the tenth, Tyler Stephenson walked, TJ Friedl was hit by a pitch, Spencer Steer singled in a run, then Jeimer Candlerio singled in two more for the Reds, 56-59.

The Reds took three of four from Miami, scoring 30 runs in the four-game series. Friedl drove in all four Cincinnati runs with two hits- homering for the second straight day- and the hit-by-pitch. Jonathan India walked and scored two times.

Elly De La Cruz went 3-4 in the game, 11-17 in the series, reaching base fourteen times, with two home runs three doubles, five RBI's and six runs scored.

Derek Hill, Vidal Brujan and Jhonny Pereda hit RBI singles for Miami in the fourth inning, but they had two runners thrown out on the bases in that frame. Hill, Pereda and Xavier Edwards had two hits for the Marlins.

Hill had two RBI's. Jake Burger just missed a game-winning home run in the ninth for Miami, 43-72.

The Reds won five of the seven games against the Marlins this season.

The Marlins bullpen had pitched four scoreless innings prior to Emmanuel Ramirez melting down in the tenth. Ramirez gave up six earned runs without getting an out.

The Marlins open up a three-game weekend series tomorrow night against the San Diego Padres at Loan Depot Park. Former Marlins turned-Padres Tanner Scott, Bryan Hoeing and Luis Arraez will be coming back home for the weekend.

First pitch is at 7:10pm ET, with Miami's Edward Cabrera (2-3, 5.96) facing San Diego's Martin Perez. (2-5, 4.96)
