Kim Mulkey and the LSU women's basketball team fall to Dawn Staley and the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks 79-72 in the SEC Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon in Greenville, South Carolina. The Tigers beat the Auburn Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels en route to the tournament final, but ultimately an off shooting day, making less than 40 percent of their attempts from the field, and the physicality of the Gamecocks proved to be too much for the Tigers to get the opportunity to cut down the nets.

While it was a great game from two incredibly talented teams and two of the most well-decorated coaches in college basketball, the biggest headline of the day is the bench-clearing brawl that happened late in the fourth quarter following an altercation between LSU's Flau'Jae Johnson and South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso. Following a Johnson turnover and an exchange of words and elbows between her and South Carolina's Ashlyn Watkins, the 6-foot-7 Cardoso came to her teammate's defense and knocked Johnson to the ground which then led both benches to clear.

All players who cleared the bench were ejected from the game. The only players left to finish the game were the five players from each team who were on the court when the squabble began. Cardoso will be suspended for the first game of the NCAA Tournament whereas, for now, LSU will have their entire lineup intact.
