LSU defines roles of defensive assistants. Is it the right formula to resurrect the Tigers defense?

The LSU Tigers announced the official job titles of their new defensive assistants on Thursday. While it was already confirmed that Blake Baker will serve as the defensive coordinator and Bo Davis will coach the defensive line, the roles of three other assistants had not yet been defined. Corey Raymond, long time coach at LSU from 2012-2022, has been named the secondary coach with former Missouri defensive analyst Jake Olsen as the safeties coach. Kevin Peoples, Baker's former defensive line coach under Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri, will coach the edge rushers. How will those dynamics work?

Plus, LSU has yet to name an offensive coordinator nor has any news broken about potentially looking outside the building for a fresh face and mind at the OC position. Former OC Mike Denbrock, who coordinated the nation's best offense this past year which led to a Heisman Trophy for QB Jayden Daniels, left his role at LSU to assume the same role at Notre Dame. Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan and WR coach Cortez Hankton split play-calling duties in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin on New Year's Day, so is it safe to assume one of the two will serve as the next offensive play-caller for the Tigers? If so, which one?
