College Football Super League Proposal Makes Sense But Will Take Time, ACC vs. FSU In Court Update

A new proposal for a college football “super league” has been reported by Andrew Marchand and Stewart Mandel of The Athletic. The proposal would essentially take the NCAA out of major college football and create eight divisions of ten teams, with one of those divisions composed of rotating members who are promoted and relegated. Where the proposal makes the most sense is that it would create one entity for negotiations with a prospective union that would represent the players on NIL, transfers and salary structure. This entity could thus avoid the anti-trust problems that the NCAA has run into as of late.

Hosts Alex Donno and Kenton Gibbs weigh in on the proposal and explain why the principles of this make so much sense based on the current evolution of college football. There are road blocks to getting this done any time soon, though. The guys break down a victory in court for the ACC over Florida State. The war isn’t over, but the ACC scored a W with FSU’s motions to dismiss the ACC’s lawsuit getting denied by a North Carolina judge.
