Justin Depth is the moniker of artist and co-label head of Image Research, Justin Myers. As a catch-all for his many different creations as producer and performer, his sound has touched on a near-infinite array of electronic sounds like IDM, ambient, drone, techno, broken-beat, downtempo, and many others. As 1/2 of the duo Alien House, he has also helped lay the foundation for a prolific output, most notably their most recent album ‘You’, a stunning display that exists in the cross-sections of futurist-leaning electronica. Amidst a cloud of digital one-offs and concept-driven collected works, emerges the first physical Justin Depth offering to date, ‘Wired’. Engineered and realized through various tactile and interfacing methods, the 5 track EP is a crisp and tectonic offering, showing a keen attention to detail and a deep appreciation for beat-driven atmosphere. Against the backdrop of ambient texture and glossy surfaces, broken-down breaks and percussion patterns cut through with precision and fluidity. Familiar and unobtainable all at once.
