Leafs Enter the Grind: Navigating the Dog Days of the NHL Season

The Leafs had a 5 game win streak going and, of course it ended and it wasn’t pretty! Enter the dog days of the NHL season...

We're back to our usual format for this show starting with the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, giving shout outs to the penalty kill, the one part of our specialty teams that is actually performing, as well as our most improved blue-liner. Sadly, some ugliness has crept into our segment for the first time this season, with both of us keying in on some similar themes, most notably the Power Play!

Still there were a few highlight reel moments to celebrate, with kudos going to three talented forwards! Let's just say the letter 'M' figures prominently!

Then for the Third Period, we preview the upcoming Four Nations Face-off tournament, discussing everything from the ticket prices, gauging fan excitement, to some interesting stats surrounding the rosters. Then finally, our conversation shifts to the Atlantic Division standings, as we take a look at the teams that we think could make a run at a playoff spot, including the Leafs and what they'll need to do to hang on to top spot.

The second half of the NHL season is now upon us, and the next 6 weeks will present some challenges with the crazy schedule and lengthy break. We'll be back next week with another Quick Hit for you where we'll hopefully be talking about how the Leafs snapped their losing streak. 'Til then...Go Leafs Go!
