Not In My Neighborhood
Manage episode 399547429 series 3288781
Join us as we discuss the housing discrimination practice known as redlining. Even though it’s been illegal since 1968, its effects are seen and felt today.
The link below is the study between the differences between the 1930 populations and 2020 populations for Baltimore, MD, and Denver, CO. The study shows that while redlining no longer dictates where Black and white residents live in those cities, the growth of these cities had not really benefited those residents whose ancestors were affected by the various housing discrepancy tactics 80 years ago.
