April is Autism Awareness month. In this segment we hear from Ms. Darlene Bowman, professor of English at the College of Staten Island and founder of AusomeTech. AusomeTech is an organization that empowers students on the autism spectrum by providing vocational training through teaching them block-based coding and other skills. Ms. Bowman gives her description of what autism is, why she founded AusomeTech and what gaps exist in computer science education for students with autism. PS: AusomeTech will be taking a trip to MIT to view their robotics lab at the end of April.
