Yoga. It was something I avoided because it was hard and slow and I felt awkward. Now that I’m older the slow, stretching and stability aspects of yoga appeal to me. But I still didn’t have a place where I felt comfortable.
In comes Kia Lee (@yogab4tacos), a new yoga instructor whose approach to yoga seems to be exactly what I need in this period of my life.
In this episode, Kia talks about her style of yoga and meditation, and her new studio, Ase’ Yoga and Meditation. I asked a lot and learned a lot.
About My Guest
Kia's love for yoga has spanned for over fifteen years, and it was at Sankofa Yoga and Wellness Center located in Laurel, Maryland, where she completed her 200-Hour Certification.
Kia's vision is to promote all aspects of a journey to wellness, while highlighting indigenous self-care tools that helps bring balance and ease into our daily lives. She uses compassion and playfulness to help others build awareness and self-confidence. Her classes are closely linked to music, which guides you to move and flow fluidly.
Off the mat, Kia loves to participate in community outreach, travel, read, listen to music, and discover new resale and vintage boutiques locally and abroad.
