Pastor Chris Meads wraps up a sermon series by examining the dangers of pride and the importance of humble, wholehearted trust in God. He looks at the life of King Asa in 2 Chronicles, who initially exemplifies radical dependence on the Lord but later falls into self-reliance and pride, facing severe divine opposition as a result. Chris warns that God will not passively allow persistent pride in believers' lives but will lovingly confront it. The antidote is to continually approach the throne of grace, receiving power through Christ to change prideful hearts. Chris exhorts the church to make this humble dependence on God their defining posture as they pursue Him in the new season, living radically consecrated lives for His glory only through obvious reliance on His power working in them.
