SHOW NOTES:
In Podcast Episode 241, “We All Need a Nathan Having Our Back,” Kim discusses the important role the prophet Nathan played in King David’s life and in the life of the kingdom of Israel. Nathan showed courage in his initial interaction with David regarding his murder of Uriah the Hittite. Then, at the end of David’s life, he knew David’s wishes and made sure those were honored even after David’s death.
Our focal passage for this episode is 1 Kings 1:7-27 with verses 11-12 as the focal verses:
“Then Nathan went to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, and asked her, “Haven’t you heard that Haggith’s son, Adonijah, has made himself king, and our Lord David doesn’t even know about it? If you want to save your own life and the life of your son Solomon, follow my advice.”
