Special guest Sarah Jane Griesemer (@savvysarahjane) joins us to chat about her love of kale (as in, the vegetable) and has a ton of great stuff to say about building communities, dealing with negative comments on your blog, and kale! We also discuss the news of the recently announced Google Wallet, YouTube turning 6, and ways to make your iPad app and web experience better. - iPad Apps are better, but still not very intuitive

- They tested tested 26 iPad apps and 6 websites.
- Problems encountered:
- The logo in the top-left is NOT understood as a “home” link on a touch device, but designers keep making it that.
- Touchable areas were too small
- “If your service requires substantial interaction, consider an app instead of a site.”
- Accidental activation due to unintended touches again caused trouble, particularly in apps lacking a Back button
- Low discoverability – lots of active areas that didn’t look “touchable”
- People hate typing on an iPad
- “Swipe ambiguity” – when can a swipe activate something and when not? People think the app is broken.
- Too Much Navigation squeezed in to an area
- Tips if you’re designing an iPad app (from the full report download):
- Design for repeat users.
- Your iPad app should have a secret weapon compared to your website.
- Do not make users work more in your iPad app than on your website.
- Do not design an iPad app as if it were an iPhone app.

- Google Wallet will first be available for Nexus S 4G Android phones via Sprint this summer and expand to other NFC-capable phones over time.
- The initial rollout will be in New York City and San Francisco.
- Wallet will first support a Citi MasterCard wherever MasterCard PayPass is accepted as well as a prepaid Google card.
