CD 1593 “Reigning in Righteousness Series” - Part 2

(Christian but Carnal)

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ should be in the earth today what Jesus was when He walked in the flesh by the presence of the Holy Spirit! But we have our priorities upside down and have put man’s programs in front of the Bible! We came to salvation by the “Living Word” and it is only by that same “Living Word” can we learn how to reign in this life!

To finish out this prophetic year of release we need to get back to the basics of everyday relationship with the Lord. So we are in WEEK #2 of this series that will teach us how to grow from a “baby believer” to a “KINGDOM KID”! We can locate ourselves by looking into the mirror of the Word of God, for our Lord can’t lie! Ask the Holy Spirit Who leads into all TRUTH to reveal how much you are being led by your 5 senses versus what the Word teaches! We need to learn how to live victoriously NOW for life is brief if we are simply living for the moment. Let's remind ourselves of the verse we read last week on the shortness of this life:

*James 4:14 (KJV) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

You were created to rule from the beginning and in Christ you are to rule:

*Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion…

*Revelation 1:6 (KJV) And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus taught us to work while it is day for the night is coming when no person can work! Today is the day of salvation and we must have the ”NOW FAITH” to rule and reign in His Righteousness!

*Series Text: Proverbs 4:18-19 (KJV) But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. 19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

*Series Text: Romans 5:17 (KJV) For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

As we progress in this series we will break down these verses very concisely but we must build on the Word in order to get there. This morning we will look at these 3 points:

#1 No HEARING (full teaching)

#2 No GROWING (alive but not living)

#3 No INSTRUCTORS (called but can’t respond)

Turn with me to Paul’s letter to the church at Corinth please:

#1 No HEARING (full teaching)

*1 Corinthians 3:1 (KJV) And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto CARNAL, even as unto babes in Christ.

Note “CARNAL” #4559 (sar-kee-kos') pertaining to the flesh - unregenerate!

A “Christian but Carnal” is a babe in Christ and has a little of the Holy Spirit and a great deal of the flesh, and the flesh is his ruling mark. Being a “Christian but Carnal” has a high price tag! The Apostle Paul had much to teach these at Corinth but they could NOT hear His full teaching because their body was dominating their soul (mind-will-emotions)! Hold Your place here and turn to the Epistle of 1 Peter please:

*1 Peter 2:11 (KJV) Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from FLESHLY lusts, which war against the soul;
