(Quickly - Without Delay)

In the airline industry delays are becoming more and more frequent. More than 22% of all flights suffered from delays or cancellations from July 2021 through July 2022.

The 10 major U.S. airlines had an on-time percentage of 77.13% from July 2021 through July 2022.

Allegiant Air had the lowest on-time percentage of any of the major 10 airlines, being on time only 61.96% of the time from July 2021 to July 2022, according to the data.

We could talk about delays at the doctor's office or at the DMV and now with product supply worldwide and on and on. Delays can be very frustrating and have serious consequences. But in this message we are looking at how our Lord wants us to be like Him, on time all the time!

Foundational Verse: Psalms 119:60 (KJV) I made haste, and “delayed” not to keep thy commandments.

*Text: James 1:16-27 (KJV) Do not err, my beloved brethren. [17] Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. [18] Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. [19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, slow to speak, slow to wrath: [20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. [21] Wherefore lay apart all filthiness to and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. [22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, DECEIVING YOUR OWN SELVES. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. [26] If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. [27] Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Note verse 19: "LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, slow to speak, slow to wrath:"

(Ecclesiastes 5:2 (KJV) Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.)

(James 3:6 (KJV) And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.)

And verse 22: "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves"!

Note "SWIFT" (TACHUS) to be prompt or ready - see (TACHU) without delay suddenly!

Note "DECEIVING your own selves" - see Colossians 2:4 BEGUILED! When the Holy Spirit drops the TRUTH - JESUS THE LIVING WORD into your heart and you don't respond you have beguiled yourself! The church has got conditioned to a "FEEL GOOD GOSPEL" that they are asleep and many are falling away.
